It’s a family thing. Ernesto Barrios Jr. and his father Ernie, both originally from Miami, Florida saw a big demand for Cuban cuisine in the South End of Louisville.

You’re immediately greeted by Cuban flair. The brick and mortar restaurant takes you back to warmer weather and beaches. The interior is no different, with a cabana style feel.

The Cuban Sandwich, is a classic hot pressed sandwich on a house-made Cuban bread, pressed together and topped with Swiss cheese, ham, mustard and pickles.

A side dish staple in Cuban cuisine. Arroz congris, Cuban rice and black beans. This dish will make you want to pump up the salsa music and grab a mojito! The rice and black beans cook together in this flavorful dish, which gives the rice it’s black color. In addition it’s cooked with peppers, onions, garlic, cumin, and bay leaf.

Just to sweeten the deal, Havana Bakery serves up crispy sweet maduros. Also known as fried sweet plantains. The combination of a caramelized crunch and candy like creamy center makes for the ultimate treat.
